Don’t Let Chronic Pain Limit Your Life

Do you suffer with chronic pain from an underlying medical condition or past injury? Is your chronic pain restricting your daily functioning? Is it making you anxious or depressed? If so, you’re not alone. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 11 percent to 40 percent of all adults in the U.S. suffer with chronic pain.

What Is Chronic Pain?

The CDC defines chronic pain as pain that typically lasts more than 3 months or past the time of normal tissue healing. It can be the result of multiple causes such as underlying disease, injury, past medical treatment or inflammation. Some chronic pain has unknown causes. Chronic pain can limit the quality of your life and lead to a dependence on opioids, alcohol and other substances.

A Multidimensional Approach to Pain Recovery

The Pain Recovery Program offered at Prevention and Recovery Center (PaRC) is designed for people who struggle with chronic pain and addictions and have used and abused medications and alcohol to manage their pain. Employing a holistic, multidimensional approach, the Pain Recovery Program can help you achieve pain relief without addictive medications.
The Pain Recovery Program teaches patients physical, mental and behavioral approaches to pain relief and recovery. The modalities include physical therapy, meditation and yoga, acupuncture, biofeedback, nutrition and wellness, communication skills training, stress management techniques, exercise, individual and group therapy and education to address substance abuse issues. Non-habit-forming medications are used as appropriate. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, PaRC offers medical detox, residential treatment, outpatient treatment, aftercare and family education and support.
