Becker's Hospital Review, a bimonthly publication offering up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems, recently announced Dan Wolterman, president and CEO of Memorial Hermann Health System, and George Gaston, CEO of Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, as two of 256 Hospital and Healthcare Industry Leaders to Know.
The Becker's Hospital Review's annual list includes some of the most recognized names in the healthcare industry, all of whom have demonstrated leadership in various capacities within a number of healthcare settings, including clinical and administrative.
Wolterman is the president and CEO of Memorial Hermann Health System, which is the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas with 11 hospitals and nearly 20,000 employees. He joined the health system in 1999 as senior vice president and during that time managed seven community hospitals and two long-term acute-care facilities. He was named CEO in 2002. Altogether, Wolterman has approximately 30 years of healthcare leadership experience.

Gaston began his career with Memorial Hermann as an administrative fellow in 1996. In July 1998, he was named administrative director at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital. In 2003, Gaston was appointed to assistant vice president of hospital operations at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. He then transferred to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, where he served as CEO for two years. Today, Gaston is leading Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital as its CEO.
