SUGAR LAND, TEXAS (April 25, 2016)

Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital and the Sugar Land Skeeters will team up for Pink in the Park, Friday, May 6 at Constellation Field in Sugar Land. Join the Skeeters and proudly wear your pink as the Skeeters take on the Somerset Patriots in the “Pink Out” game starting at 7:05 p.m.

Breast cancer survivors will be honored on the field during the game and a silent auction will be held for fans to bid on baseball bats painted by Skeeters players to support breast cancer awareness. Pink jerseys worn by the players during the game will also be up for bid in the silent auction.

It will be a dual celebration this year as Memorial Hermann Sugar Land and the Skeeters will also celebrate Healthcare Employee Night. All healthcare workers who show their employee identification badge at the main gate will be given two free lawn seats for the game, based on availability.

“Pink in the Park is a special night for the community that we look forward to each year and this year even more so as we honor all healthcare employees alongside breast cancer survivors,” said Greg Haralson, Sr. Vice President and CEO, Hermann Sugar Land. “It’s a privilege to recognize these amazing individuals who serve and inspire our community.”

Proceeds from Pink in the Park will be used to enhance the breast cancer services offered through Memorial Hermann Sugar Land including digital mammography for screening and diagnostics and the cutting edge 3-D breast tomosynthesis. This digital technology can detect smaller breast tumors that may be missed by traditional mammography. The technology is particularly beneficial for women with dense or fatty breast tissue.
