KATY, TEXAS (August 02, 2012)

Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital was recognized as one of the nation's top hospitals in U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Hospitals" 2012 rankings. Memorial Hermann Katy was the only hospital in Katy to be recognized.

The hospital ranked #37 in the state and #10 in the Houston metro area. Memorial Hermann Katy was also recognized for being high-performing in Orthopedics and scored above the national and state average in patient satisfaction.

"It is an honor to be recognized as one of the best hospitals locally and nationally by U.S. News & World Report," said Scott Barbe, CEO of Memorial Hermann Katy, after learning about the new rankings. "Our goal is to provide safe and high-quality care for our patients and recognition like this is evidence we are succeeding in this mission."

This year's Best Hospitals, the 23rd annual edition, showcases more than 720 of the nation's roughly 5,000 hospitals. Fewer than 150 are nationally ranked in at least one of 16 medical specialties. The rest of the recognized hospitals met a standard of performance nearly as demanding in one or more specialties.
