HOUSTON (February 02, 2024)

Freddy Warner, vice president and chief government relations officer for Memorial Hermann Health System, has been recognized with the Texas Hospital Association’s 2023 HOSPAC Star Award.

“I’m truly honored and humbled by this recognition from HOSPAC,” Warner said. “Our government relations team, system board members, and senior leaders work tirelessly to advance and improve public policy for all Texas hospitals, not just ours, and this recognition is a testament to all of their hard work, most of which is done behind the scenes.”

Created in 2009, the HOSPAC Star Award recognizes outstanding hospital leaders and trustees who go above and beyond to support HOSPAC, the state and federal political action committees of the Texas Hospital Association (THA). Nominees for the award are submitted by THA membership, and award winners are selected by the HOSPAC Executive Committee. Warner was unanimously selected for this year’s award by the executive committee.

“Freddy is an unparalleled asset for Memorial Hermann who passionately advocates for our health system, as well as for our patients and community members,” said Deborah Gordon, executive vice president, chief administrative officer and chief legal officer for Memorial Hermann. “We are proud of and grateful for Freddy’s many accomplishments, and we thank THA for this well-deserved acknowledgment of his efforts.”

Warner has served on the HOSPAC board for over a decade and has dedicated countless hours to HOSPAC and furthering its mission of better public policy for all Texas hospitals. Before joining Memorial Hermann, Warner spent more than 20 years working in a variety of legislative, campaign and regulatory capacities in more than 30 U.S. states and in Washington, D.C., with a particular emphasis on the state of Texas. He has served as a senior campaign advisor and in legislative roles for a member of the Texas congressional delegation, a Texas state senator and a former Texas lieutenant governor.
