For his Eagle project, the Cinco Ranch sophomore of Boy Scout Troop 424 built two picnic tables and benches for Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. Shenoi led the design and construction of the project with help from fellow Scouts, friends from Cinco Ranch High School and parent volunteers. The tables and benches were recently dedicated and placed outside the doctors’ lounge, where physicians can use them to relax in an outdoor setting.
“I am grateful to all who helped me make this project a success,” said Shenoi. “I am especially thankful to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital for donating the wood for the project and helping with transportation. Also, special thanks go to Heather Rojas, Manager of Volunteer Services and Eric Herrera, Director of Engineering Services, for their assistance with this endeavor.”
Shenoi, also an active member of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), chose the hospital as the beneficiary of his Eagle project because he aspires to practice medicine one day.
Since its inception in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men. To attain the rank of Eagle Scout, a candidate must, among other requirements, earn 21 merit badges, demonstrate Scout Spirit and leadership within his troop, and plan, develop and lead a service project.
