Cardiologist Dr. Majid Basit earned his medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He completed a residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) medical school and a fellowship from St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Warren, Michigan. Dr. Basit is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
Cardiologist Dr. Carlos Zorilla earned his medical degree from Universidad Peruano Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. He completed a residency and fellowship in cardiology at the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine and St. Vincent's Medical Center. Board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine, Dr. Zorilla specializes in cardiology and interventional cardiology.
Family medicine physician, Dr. Laura Aronson, D.O., serves patients aged newborn and up. Dr. Aronson attended Texas A&M in College Station, Texas for undergraduate studies and earned her degree in osteopathic medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. She completed her residency at Memorial Family Medicine Residency in Sugar Land, Texas.
Pulmonary specialist Dr. Sandip Desai earned his medical degree from Government Medical College in India. He completed a residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and a fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans. Dr. Desai is board certified in critical care and pulmonology.
Nephrologist Dr. Manaf Alroumoh earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus, Syria. He completed a residency at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in New York City and a fellowship at New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens. Dr. Alroumoh is board certified in nephrology.
Nephrologist Dr. Elzbieta Baranowska-Daca earned her medical degree from Akademia Medyczna in Warsaw, Poland. She completed her residency at St. Paul University Hospital Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and a fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Board certified in internal medicine and nephrology, she sees patients with acute and chronic renal failure, nephritis, cystitis and other renal conditions.
Nephrologist Dr. H. M. Ogburn earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville (Kentucky) School of Medicine. He completed a residency and fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Ogburn is board certified in nephrology. His primary clinical interests are diabetes management, internal medicine and lupus.
Pediatrician Dr. Henri Ann Nortman earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston and finished her residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Board certified in pediatrics, she is especially interested in child development.
Pediatrician Dr. Tayyab Pasha graduated from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas and completed his residency in pediatrics at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. He sees patients newborn to 18 for a variety of reasons including well-child visits, immunizations and asthma. His clinical interests include ADHD, childhood obesity and nutrition.
Pediatrician Dr. Susan Winchell graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. She then completed her internship and residency in pediatrics through a Baylor College of Medicine affiliated residency program at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She continues daily to strive for excellence and maintain her outstanding knowledge base through diligent continued medical education. She also recertifies through the American Board of Pediatrics every 10 years.
Surgeon Dr. David Stapenhorst earned his medical degree and completed his residency in general surgery at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. He completed specialized training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). Board certified in both general surgery and plastic surgery, Dr. Stapenhorst performs cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and hand surgery for patients of all ages.
Urologist Dr. Kyle Keyes received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Baylor University and obtained his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he also completed his residency. He sees patients ages 18 and up for voiding issues, elevated PSA, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, adrenal masses, all types of urological cancers, and incontinence. His clinical interests include complicated kidney disease, kidney tumors, kidney obstruction and urological cancer including bladder cancer and kidney cancer.
Family nurse practitioner Anne Mazel earned her master’s degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). She works with cardiologists to provide complete cardiac care, including evaluating and managing follow-up for cases of hypertension, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias and high cholesterol.
Family nurse practitioner Janie M. Avila received a Master of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University School of Nursing in Houston in 2009. She also earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View in 2004 and has more than 18 years of nursing experience.
Certified physician assistant Alberto Ortiz graduated from the University of Oklahoma and completed is training in the United States Military Interservice Physician Assistant Program. He works with family medicine physicians to care for patients suffering from acute or chronic conditions.
All pediatric patients are required to be up-to-date on all immunizations or scheduled to receive recommended immunizations when visiting Memorial Hermann Medical Group practice locations unless there is a medical reason that the child cannot be completely vaccinated.
In accordance with the immunization schedule published by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CSC), the providers of Memorial Hermann Medical Group recommend all children receive vaccinations for the safety and wellbeing of each child and the community.
