Our physicians, who have years of experience in family medicine, focus on building long-lasting relationships with their patients. They are specially trained in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease and skilled in managing diabetes, hypertension, infectious diseases, kidney disorders and other chronic conditions.
Dr. James G. Hodges earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Kentucky and completed a residency in pediatrics and internal medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center Houston (UTHealth). Because he specializes in both internal medicine and pediatrics, Dr. Hodges provides lifelong care for his patients. He manages acute care, treats chronic diseases and does well-woman exams and biometric screenings.
Yuhang “Tony” Jia, MD graduated from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed his residency at Houston Methodist Family Medicine Residency in Houston, Texas. Fluent in English and conversational Chinese, Dr. Jia treats a variety of conditions including diabetes, hypertension, and acute care. He also treats sports medicine injuries, joint pain and aches.
Anita Shankar, MD received her medical degree from The University of Texas
Medical School at Houston, where she also completed her residency. Board
certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, Dr. Shankar treats patients ages
newborn and up. Fluent in Tamil with a working knowledge of Spanish, she sees
patients for acute illnesses, management of chronic diseases, well child and
well woman exams, and annual physicals.
Rachelle Wheeler, RN, BSN, FNP-C is a family nurse
practitioner serving patients ages 18 months and up. Wheeler sees patients for
annual physicals, chronic disease management including hypertension and
diabetes, as well as acute illnesses including sore throats, sinus infections,
aches and sprains, among others.
