Zachary R. Mucher, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Urology and is the previous Chief of Urology at the USAF David Grant Medical Center. He is currently the Chairman of Surgery at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital and serves on their Medical Executive Committee. In addition, he was voted "Physician of the Year 2016" at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital.
Dr. Mucher, a native of San Antonio, TX, completed his undergraduate training with a Bachelor's of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then completed his medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He graduated Alpha Omega Alpha, reserved for the top ten percent of medical school graduates nationwide. After medical school, he pursued a career in Urology by completing his five-year residency at The University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.
Dr. Mucher is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered urological care for men and women. He has an interest in all aspects of urology, including male sexual health and infertility, female incontinence/prolapse, prostate disorders, kidney stones, urologic oncology, and robotic surgery.
Dr. Mucher was proud to serve in Iraq, acting as the sole Air Force urologist in theater during the troop surge of 2007, for which he received the Air Force Commendation Medal. He also received the Meritorious Service Medal for his service to his country.
In his spare time, Dr. Mucher enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys. He is an avid cyclist and a recreational triathlete.
