Fellowship-trained in Interventional Cardiology, Robert Schutt, M.D., graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Virginia and his fellowship in cardiology at Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center. Dr. Schutt completed his fellowship in Interventional Cardiology with the Harvard Medical School at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
Trained in the latest technology, Dr. Schutt sees patients 18 and older. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Interventional Cardiology and Echocardiography, he treats a variety of conditions including blocked arteries, chest pain, heart failure, coronary and peripheral artery disease, valvular heart disease and basic arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. Dr. Schutt believes in taking the least invasive approach in his patient care, an example being transradial cardiac catheterization, which reduces bleeding risk and provides more comfort to his patients than other approaches.
Dr. Schutt believes in a team approach in his care, working with patients toward a cardiovascular care plan that they feel confident in. For him, the best part of his job is getting to work with patients to give them the best outcome possible.
In his spare time, Dr. Schutt enjoys spending time with his family.
