Dr. Amit Patel, DO

After graduating from the University of California, Irvine, with his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Patel completed his master’s degree at Georgetown University before attaining his medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, Calif. He completed his training in internal medicine, advanced heart failure and general cardiology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. Dr. Patel began his career as an engineer, but was inspired to become a physician because he wanted to combine his love of science with his compassion to care for people.

Board certified in internal medicine, general cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology, Dr. Patel is dedicated to providing quality health care to adult patients experiencing a broad scope of cardiovascular issues, including hypertension, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerotic vascular disease, heart attacks, congestive heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms such as atrial fibrillation. He strives to provide quality care and his clinical interests include preventative cardiology, pulmonary hypertension, mechanical circulatory support and cardiac transplantation.

Dr. Patel’s goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based cardiovascular care for his patients. He prides himself on being caring, thorough and responsive. He ensures his patients understand their illnesses and the necessary steps to manage them by following up on their test results and treatment plans regularly.

His hobbies include spending time outdoors, exercising, experiencing new cuisines and, most importantly, spending time with his family.
