Advanced practice provider Lauren Frankoff, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in nutritional sciences at the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Science in nutrition from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Science in physician assistant studies at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Lauren, a native Houstonian, is dedicated to the care of patients in the community. Following graduation, she joined the Center for Advanced Heart Failure with UTHealth and Memorial Hermann, caring for patients with a variety of cardiovascular diseases. She has experience managing patients with chronic heart failure, including those requiring LVADs (left ventricular assist devices) and heart transplantation. Her additional clinical interests include structural heart disease, ischemic heart disease and general cardiology with an emphasis on risk factor modification and prevention.

Lauren decided at a young age, after helping care for family members with chronic medical conditions, that she was interested in pursuing medicine as a career. Early on, she realized the importance of prevention and lifestyle modification to promote health and well-being from the inside out.

She approaches patient care as a partnership between provider and individual patients.

Utilizing her background in nutrition as the foundation to educate patients on all aspects of health, she takes a holistic approach to the practice of evidence-based medicine.

Being a part of each patient’s clinical journey, to her, is an honor. She hopes that patients feel heard and able to confide in their care team during some of the most difficult times. Her favorite part of practicing medicine is seeing patients succeed and thrive in an outpatient setting after they are discharged from the hospital.

Lauren spends her free time with family and friends. Her favorite activities include walking around the park, reading and experiencing new types of diverse cuisines around the city.
