Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner Vincent DePassio, M.S.N., RN, AGACNP-BC, sees patients ages 18 years and older, and assists physicians with outpatient care. DePassio works as an extension of the Southwest Cardiology team and ensures that patients receive quality care.
DePassio, sees himself as a health coach, he takes the time to teach his patients about their condition and gives them the tools to gain a better quality of life. “The patient and I work as a team. I make a treatment plan, guide them on how to stay on track, educate them about their health and what it means for their lifestyle in the long run,” said DePassio. He finds this rewarding not only because he’s able to see the growth of each patient, but also because he develops a personal connection with them through each step of their progress.
DePassio became an acute care nurse practitioner because he wanted to advance his role in caring for patients. He wants his patients to feel that he genuinely cares about them and to never be afraid when asking questions.
