Susana Kataka-Gitu, APRN, WHNP-BC
Women's Health Nurse Practitioner
Susana Kataka-Gitu is a women’s health nurse practitioner for Northeast Women’s Healthcare and sees women ages 13 and older. She treats female patients throughout all life stages and has a special interest in obstetrics and gynecological care and procedures and patient education. Susana especially takes great pride in caring for teenagers. She feels it is a unique opportunity to care for a young woman at a stage of life that is so impressionable, ultimately shaping her decisions regarding her body and future wellness goals.
Susana received a master’s degree in women’s health nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She completed a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Memphis.
Been in practice since 2004, Susana has always enjoyed caring for others and it is this passion that led her to a fulfilling career in women’s health. Fluent in Swahili, Susana’s patient care philosophy is guided by principles of trust and respect. Her goal is to create a comfortable environment, making sure her patients feel safe and are communicated with fully. Compassionate and understanding, Susana encourages her patients to ask questions and be engaged so together, they can determine the best treatment plan for their individual situation.
In Susana’s spare time, she enjoys swimming, reading and spending time with friends.
