Family Nurse Practitioner
Obi Oji, M.S.N., RN, FNP-BC, family nurse practitioner at the Memorial Hermann Medical Group, received her bachelor’s degree from York University in Toronto, Canada, and earned her Master’s degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She sees patients from newborns to adults and has a special interest in well-child checks, providing continuity of care to patients of all ages, and well-woman exams.
Obi appreciates being able to provide care to patients and manage their acute and chronic health conditions. She also enjoys helping to educate patients about their disease process and involve them in their plan of care. She believes this helps to build relationships with her patients and encourages them to take charge of their health care.
Obi says her favorite part of her job is establishing relationships with patients, being compassionate and showing patients that she cares about their well-being. Her goal with each patient is to ensure they feel she has taken time to listen to them, has been empathetic to their situation and shown them she cares about them and their disease process.
When away from work, Obi enjoys making jewelry, aerobic exercise and traveling.
