Larry Long, MPAS, PA-C, whose special interests include pediatric and family medicine, sees patients, ages 5 to adult, for acute illnesses, chronic diseases and preventive medicine. He is available to see walk-ins and same-day appointments for acute illnesses.
A healthcare professional with more than 21 years of experience with the Army
Medical Corps and 17 years of experience as a physician assistant, Long brings
deep operational knowledge in all areas of acute and primary care.
Long served as a medical officer during Operation Iraqi Freedom and provided
tactical medical care for over 700 U.S. personnel in deployment and coordination
of medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) operations throughout Iraq. Long has received
several awards, including the Bronze Star Medal in 1991 and 2007, and was
also awarded the prestigious Spurgeon Neel Flight Surgeon of the Year in 2007
based on the number of patients seen, air medical summaries and the amount of
flight physicals given. Long gained additional healthcare experiences by serving
as Physician Assistant to the United States President, Vice President and their
families.
Compassionate and patient-focused, Long prides himself on delivering high
quality care in a timely manner. He also understands the importance of creating a
satisfying patient experience – ensuring his patients’ questions are answered and
that they understand their treatment plan.
Away from the clinic, he enjoys living on the lake, exercising, cooking and spending
time with his family and friends.
